School Holiday Deals

Looking for something new and interesting to do for the July School Holidays? Come and see us for a half day Sightseeing Cruise.

Well, we are offering trips with families in mind – an easy family friendly start time of 10am and returning to the Marina at 2pm. This gives you plenty of time to round everyone up for breakfast and that all essential caffeine fix!

Now operating out of both Tutukaka and Marsden Cove Marina’s we’ve got you covered. Either Marina is only a half hour drive from Whangarei.

Marsden Cove Sightseeing Cruise

Marsden Cove Sightseeing Cruise Itinerary:

  • Meet at Marsden Cove Marina at 10am.
  • As we are leaving Marsden Cove you get to view the beautiful houses with their own jetty’s along the water ways as we head out into the Whangarei Harbour.
  • Your Skipper will take you past the Reotahi Marine Reserve where the seals relax on the shore in the sun. Cruising past Little Munro Bay, Taurikura, Urquharts Bay whilst looking up at the spectacular Mountains.
  • Then if we are lucky with the weather we will head out to the Harbour entrance. Along past Smugglers Cove, rounding Bream Head (The Old Woman) getting a good close look at Guano Rock and up towards Oceans Beach.
  • Return to Marina at 2pm.
Tutukaka Coast Sightseeing Cruise

Tutukaka Coast Sightseeing Cruise Itinerary:

  • Meet at Tutukaka Marina at 10am
  • Depending on the weather conditions on the day, we will have the option of heading North to the beautiful Whale Bay or South to Goat Island, via Whangaumu Bay and Ngunguru Sandspit.
  • Your Skipper will choose the best option on the day, calling into bays along the way so that you can check out our beautiful coastline, native bush and wildlife.
  • Return to Marina at 2pm.

Enjoy the cruise up to Whale Bay with it’s idyllic white sand and bush lined beaches along the way, and see the beautiful Coastline from on the water.  Calling into secluded Bays that can only be accessed by boat.

Did you know that Whale and Matapouri Bays are recognised by the Lonely Planet guide as being among the best beaches in New Zealand?  It’s understandable really.  The white sand defines the edge of the lush green native bush with mature stands of puriri, pohutukawa and kowhai.  This contrasts with the clear blue water of these beautifully calm bays.  They’re right – it’s beautiful!

A little bit of history you may not be aware of, Whale Bay was an ideal location for Māori to launch their early whaling missions and gives it the name popularly used today.

Sound Good? Come and join us! You can check out availability and book your tickets on Eventfinder for trips departing Tutukaka or Marsden Cove
